Weekly Gatherings
At the heart of our ministry at the ESC is a weekly rhythm of prayer and fellowship that nurtures our love of God and love of one another. We come together every Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in the academic year to encounter the living God and break bread together.
Worship & Dinner
Sundays, 5:30pm to 7:00pm
We gather every Sunday at St. Luke’s Chapel in the Student Center for Holy Eucharist. At this Holy Communion, we come to find Jesus revealed in the breaking open of Scripture and the breaking of bread. As Saint Augustine says, “In the Eucharist, we become what we receive.” After this heavenly banquet, we share a free meal around an often crowded table.
Compline | Night Prayer
Tuesdays, 9:00pm to 9:20pm
Students gather every Tuesday to pray the monastic night prayer of “Compline" in the Episcopal Prayer Book. The ancient prayer is a short service often said before bed. Its soothing words remind us of God’s undying faithfulness and care, even while we sleep. For “God gives sleep to God’s beloved” (Ps 127:2).
Bible Study & Dinner
Wednesdays, 5:30pm to 7:30pm
Our community comes together for a teaching by the campus missioner, community check in, and praying with Scripture every Wednesday evening. It is an oasis of stillness and spiritual reflection when life can feel so full. When reflecting on Scripture, we listen to God speaking to us here and now, and hold space for the Holy Spirit's movement in one another’s lives. After Bible Study, we enjoy a free meal cooked by a family at our local church, St. Stephen’s.
